Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 2026
Custom Robotics of La Jolla (“CRLJ,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the privacy of visitors to customrobotics.io. This Privacy Policy explains the information we may collect through the website, how we may use it, when it may be shared, and the choices available to you.
This policy applies to information collected through customrobotics.io and website-related forms, newsletter signups, downloads, pilot or partnership inquiries, investor inquiries, media or speaking requests, and other digital interactions that link to this policy. It does not automatically govern information collected through a future Skollar™ product, dashboard, pilot environment, monitoring program, CRLJ Assured™ evaluation, or other product or service unless that experience expressly links to this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Email you send us. If you email info@customrobotics.io, CRLJ receives your email address and anything you include in your message, such as your name, company, job title, and the details of your inquiry.
Online forms. The website’s inquiry forms — including contact, executive briefing, pilot, partnership, investor, media, and general inquiries — may ask for information such as your name, company, job title, email address, industry, robotics platform, use case, and your message. When a form is accepting submissions, the information you submit is sent to CRLJ and stored in HubSpot, our customer relationship management service, so CRLJ can respond to and manage your inquiry. Submitting an inquiry does not subscribe you to CRLJ Research & Company Updates; some forms offer a separate, optional box you can tick if you would like to subscribe. A form that is not yet accepting submissions says so and does not send your information; you can email info@customrobotics.io instead.
Newsletter. If you sign up for CRLJ Research & Company Updates, CRLJ records your email address and your subscription in HubSpot and emails you a link to confirm your subscription. CRLJ Research & Company Updates is currently our only email list.
Research downloads. To download a CRLJ white paper, you enter your email address and select Unlock Download. Where the website is set up to record download requests, CRLJ records your email address and the paper you requested in HubSpot to provide the paper and understand interest in CRLJ research. This does not subscribe you to marketing emails. Your email address is also saved in your browser so it can be filled in for you next time. Where a download request is not recorded, the paper is still provided and your email address stays only in your browser. The notice next to the download box tells you which applies.
Email address confirmation. If you are new to CRLJ, you may receive an email asking you to confirm your email address after you submit any CRLJ form, including an inquiry or a research download. Confirming your address on its own does not subscribe you to CRLJ Research & Company Updates or any other marketing email.
Information sent with a form. Along with what you enter, a form submission includes the address and title of the page you sent it from. To prevent misuse, our server also keeps short-lived coded values derived from your email address and network address; they cannot be read back as the original information and are deleted automatically after no more than about a day.
Technical information. When you visit the website, our hosting provider receives the technical information that browsers send with each request, such as your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, the page requested, the referring page, and the date and time. This information is used to deliver the website and keep it secure and may be recorded in server logs.
Cookies and browser storage. The website uses a small amount of browser storage to operate and does not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. Where the website shows a cookie banner, the banner stores your cookie choice in cookies. See the Cookie Policy for details.
2. How We May Use Information
We may use information to respond to inquiries; provide requested materials; evaluate partnership, pilot, investor, media, or speaking opportunities; operate and improve the website; understand site usage; manage newsletter subscriptions; maintain security; prevent misuse; comply with legal obligations; and support legitimate business operations.
Where required by law, CRLJ will rely on an appropriate legal basis for processing personal information, such as consent, performance of a requested service, compliance with a legal obligation, or legitimate business interests.
4. Services Used by the Website
Hosting and delivery. The website’s pages, images, fonts, and downloadable documents are delivered by our website hosting provider. The website does not load fonts, analytics, or advertising code from other companies.
Email. Messages sent to info@customrobotics.io are received and stored through CRLJ’s email service provider.
HubSpot. Information submitted through website forms and newsletter sign-ups, and recorded research downloads, is sent from our server to HubSpot, which stores it for CRLJ. HubSpot also sends the confirmation emails described above and CRLJ newsletters, and manages your email subscription preferences. Where the website shows a cookie banner, the banner is provided by HubSpot and loaded from HubSpot’s servers. HubSpot describes its practices in the HubSpot Privacy Policy (opens in a new tab).
Not yet active. Website analytics have been prepared for the website but are not active. This policy will be updated to describe them before they are turned on.
Links to third-party websites and social platforms, including CRLJ’s LinkedIn, X, and YouTube pages, are governed by those parties’ privacy practices, not this Privacy Policy.
5. Data Retention
CRLJ will retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to maintain business records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, meet legal or regulatory obligations, or protect legitimate business interests. Retention periods may vary by data type and relationship.
The email address saved in your browser for research downloads stays there until you clear your browser’s site data. The coded values our server keeps to prevent misuse are deleted automatically after no more than about a day. You may ask CRLJ to delete information recorded in HubSpot as described under Your Privacy Choices.
6. Security
CRLJ uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information associated with the website.
No website, network, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. CRLJ does not represent that website information can never be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed without authorization.
7. Your Privacy Choices
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, or information about certain disclosures or uses of your personal information. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
You may unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link included in those messages. CRLJ Research & Company Updates is currently our only email list. Unsubscribing from it — or unticking it on the email preferences page — removes you from all CRLJ marketing email. Essential operational or transactional messages may still be sent where appropriate.
Where the website shows a cookie banner, you can change or withdraw your cookie choice at any time using Cookie Settings in the website footer. Rejecting optional cookies does not prevent you from sending an inquiry or requesting a research paper.
To submit a privacy request, contact info@customrobotics.io. CRLJ may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.
8. California and Other State Privacy Rights
Where CRLJ is subject to the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, or similar U.S. state privacy laws, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, or information about certain disclosures or uses of your personal information. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To submit a privacy request, contact info@customrobotics.io. CRLJ may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.
9. Children’s Privacy
The website is intended for business and general informational audiences and is not directed to children under 13. CRLJ does not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children through the website. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact CRLJ so the matter can be reviewed.
10. International Visitors
The website is operated from the United States. If you access the website from outside the United States, information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States or other jurisdictions with different data-protection rules than your own.
11. Changes to This Policy
CRLJ may update this Privacy Policy as the website, tools, or legal requirements change. The Last Updated date will be revised whenever material changes are made.
